New Artwork – Ex-S Gundam space version

August 18, 2013 at 7:48 pm

I decided to do 1 last Ex-S artwork before I move on. This time, I tried to make it as complete as possible by adding some meaning and to put it into context. So therefore I went for an anime style look with a full background painting! I had set the gundam up with a dynamic attacking pose as it is soaring through space preparing for battle. What would make this artwork even better is if there was a full battle going on in the background, but unfortunately I don’t have the resources (yet) to get to such level of detail!

I used a new rendering technique called Toon Render this time and was quite happy with the results. It means I won’t have to do everything by hand like I had done in the past! However there is still room for improvement and I kinda fudged my way through.

This will perhaps be my last Ex-S artwork and I will surely miss working on it. So I hope to make this one my best piece to date and I think I am satisfied =). However, I have many more gundams lined up and will be looking forward to creating new and higher quality ones.

New artwork – Deep Striker vector lineart

August 8, 2013 at 6:14 pm

I’ve been away from the gundam scene for far too long, mainly because I had to apply for a new job which is all sorted now. I also got a promotion which I’m really happy about =). My Weibritter project has been put on hold for over half a year even though it’s already 80% complete. But getting back into a big project is hard so I decided to ease my way back in by doing a simple line drawing. Only that it didn’t turn out to be as simple as I hoped!

I decided to do a lineart of my Deep Striker figure. It’s insanely detailed and I never get sick of looking at it, never. What first seemed like an easy job ended being one of the most daunting works I’ve had to grind through. It’s the sheer amount of detail. This made me appreciate the works of mecha designers even more because they’re just at such an incredible level, being able to sketch the 3D geometries and detail all from the head, really is something amazing.

Here is my Deep Striker lineart, completed in Illustrator and took exactly 13hrs to do. Hope you like it.

Infinite Stratos – A pleasant surprise =D

February 25, 2013 at 9:40 pm

I just finished watching Infinite Stratos and am in a post series depression state just like the Fate Stay Night days =(. Beforew I started watching the series, I had no expectations of it whatsoever, heck, I didn’t even know what the series was about. I thought ‘hey, girls and mecha, can’t go wrong with that!’ and boy was I right!  However, the series turned out to be NOTHING like I had imagined!

The series turned out to be more a comedy than mecha action in my opinion and that happens to be fine with me!

Finally playing Dai 2 ji Super Robot Taisen OG!!

January 18, 2013 at 4:56 pm

Dai 2 ji super robot taisen OG

I cannot contain my excitement. I was so desperate to start playing this game that I caught the train to my bros house after work to pick it up. And I’m glad I did because this is already shaping up to be THE BEST super robot taisen I’ve ever played!

Only 10 scenarios in and I’ve lost count how many times my jaw has hit the ground. My mind is literally fried, not from the 45 degree record heat today, but from the lethal mind blows (my mind) from the lethal blows of the the most crazy attacks I’ve ever seen. And that’s just the start…so far:

Alteisen – Absolutely blew my mind, I use his attacks over and over. BUNKER!!

Gespenst MK-II – Simple grunt unit but amazing full force attack!

Valsione – Cross Smasher! Pretty much a HD version of the already amazing attack.

Dai Zengar – My god his Zankantou is so epic, words cannot describe. Massive large sword, flys across setting sun, brutal slice…so badass!

Gungrust – Looks MASSIVE and shiny

Granveil – iconic shoulder fire canons burns everything to ashes!

Still so much more to come…

– Cerberus Ignite

– Garmraid Blaze

– SRX

– Cybaster

– Rein weisritter

– KouRyuOh

Damn too much to name!

Anyway, that’s what I’ve been up to =P

Weiβritter progress report

January 6, 2013 at 10:38 pm

It’s been a while since I’ve worked on the Weiβritter. I started off modelling in 100% nurbs before realising that it just isn’t efficient, so I’ve switched back to polys and have dramatically sped up the progress. Currently modelling is about 70% complete. It’s at a really fun stage now where I can soon start putting the pieces together and posing and adding awesome textures. Modelling is a grind and I have to keep grinding till the very end!

I’m aiming to surpass the quality of the Ex-S, but that means there’s still ALOT of work to be done. ETA should be around end of Jan if I keep it up. Can’t wait to finish this!

Japan Trip 2012 – Part 4 Final

June 11, 2012 at 3:37 pm

Well here is the final part of our trip! We finished Osaka and slowly made our way back up to Tokyo, stopping by Kyoto once again and Nagoya. It felt like we’ve seen most of Japan. But something was missing, there was a missing piece of the puzzle which we had yet found. It wasn’t until the end of our trip that we finally found it.

Akihabara.

But first I’ll start off with the awesome events that took place before wrapping up this already amazing trip in Akihabara.

Kyoto April 15th – 5 Year Anniversary

It is April 15th, our 5 year anniversary so we decided to spend another day in Kyoto as there really was no better place. This time however, we decided to be a little more adventurous, so we hired a bike and rode all around this beautiful city. I have to give lots of credit for doing so as she wasn’t the most experienced rider, yet she made it through all the narrow streets, the crowded paths and the riverside =). Had heaps of fun that day, it was an experience like no other!
