Japan/HongKong Trip 2012 – Part 1

May 20, 2012 at 1:35 pm

Just came back with Chibi from the best trip I’ve ever had in my life. It was an absolute adventure! 3 weeks of sightseeing and discovery in Japan and 1 week of shopping and seeing relatives in Hong Kong. The main highlight of this trip is obviously be Japan as it was my first time visiting.

I’ll start off by saying that Japan did meet my expectations and was a super exciting place to check out! I’m glad my first time was with Chibi because I love how we can just freely travel, discovery and experience everything together at our own pace =). It really is an unforgettable experience.

And as you would’ve guessed, we took lots of pictures! Everything was so interesting we just could’nt resist snapping photo’s of just about EVERYTHING. All photo’s shown are in chronological order.

Shibuya

When we arrived, our mission was to make it to Shibuya. It was a bit of a challenge as we spoke zero Japanese, had all our heavy luggages with us and more importantly – it was getting dark! We caught the Narita Express (my first japanese train experience, OMG it was COOL!), but by then outside was already pitch black. However, little did we know that getting dark would be the least of our concerns…We finally arrived to our first destination – Shibuya.

Shibuya Intersection night

Shibuya station Hachiko exit. Also where the famous Shibuya intersection is. I was blown away when I saw the lights, billboards, people and also Kyari Pamyu Pamyu promoting CANDY CANDY on the main TV advertisment.

Back from Japan, blog gets a refresh

May 12, 2012 at 12:51 pm

Hey there! It’s been a while. Just came back from ‘the best trip’ of my life ever!

I’ll just keep this entry really short. I just gave this blog a complete new look. I feel the need to do so as so much has changed recently. I’d like to keep this blog as simple as possible. All gundam development projects will be moved externally which I have yet to decide, possibly my DA account.

I’ve been busy sorting out all my Japan trip photos. I took about 3000 just on my camera! Really looking forward to writing the blog entry but it may take some time as there’s just so many things I could write about. Japan really is an amazing place, hopefully I’ll have that up soon. I don’t use facebook, so I’m thinking of starting a photo gallery page which will pretty much act the same way and house photo’s of my trips and stuff.

That’s it for now!

Off to Japan tomorrow – The place I’ve been so curious about

March 30, 2012 at 11:39 pm

I still can’t believe the time has come. At last, after 2 years of planning, a lifetime of waiting, I am off to Japan tomorrow =). I can’t describe how I feel, but somehow I feel like its some kind of turning moment in life. How do I put it? I guess you could say my Pre-Japan vision era is almost finally over. The “I’ve never seen, been, felt the way of Japan” can no longer be said. It’s like I’m finally watching the last episode of Fate Stay Night!.

In a way I feel sad, but I know I won’t be afterwards. Because I’ve always believed Japan is a wonderful place. But I’m setting my expectations back to neutral gear. I’ll just absorb, take in what I see and appreciate it. I feel like I already know the place as I’ve done so much research on it already. It’s almost as if I’ve already been there. But I’m not gona think about it too much. Just gona enjoy what Japan has to offer and really just go out there and discover it for myself.

Oh man, I can’t wait =)

Adelaide trip 2012

January 9, 2012 at 10:30 pm

Had a great time with the cofa guys down in Adelaide last week. Tho I must admit, there wasn’t a whole lot to do down there, but hey, it’s the people that matters. My cousin gave me an awesome Nikon P7100 as a departing gift and I sure made some good use of it. Here are some pictures of the trip, they’re all taken from my Nikon =)

Our cosy holiday house - Lounge area. Also Burpy and MZ's sleeping couches.

Replaying Chrono trigger on iOS

December 12, 2011 at 10:07 pm

Chrono Trigger came out on iOS 4 days ago and I just had to get the game pretty much imediately as if it was first released. I’ve been talking about this game pretty much all my life. I get asked alot about which is my favourite final fantasy series. Well you know what? my favourite final fantasy series is Chrono trigger! Screw FF, why do we need to talk about FF before CT?!

After finishing the game over 10 years ago, CT simply lives on in my life. From the gorgeous graphics to the heavenly harmonic tunes, there has never been a month (ok a day may be exaggerated) where I don’t think about CT. It was CT that got me started playing guitar. The first guitar song I ever learnt was ‘Radical dreamers’ and to this day, it remains as my favourite guitar song. Then there’s Zeal Palace and the hundreds of thousands of remixes out there. All in all, i just can’t stress about how excited I am with this release.

With it being in my iPhone, I basically have the best RPG ever with me at all times no matter where I am. And sadly, this is the only way I could ever play it. Not quite sad though, as the experience is phenomenal. Square did an excellent job porting the game to the iOS. Everything just fits the screen nicely and the touch controls work the way it should. Not sure why the game is nearly 600Mb though as the original snes game was only like 32Mb or something. But I ain’t complaining, It’s worth the 500Mb allocation on my iPhone and will permanently stay there forever =)

CT lives!
