SRW OG OST Updated

April 5, 2011 at 12:02 am

After Spending over 2 hours translating and re-arranging the 118 track OG OST, I am 1 step closer to finish building my Ultimate SRW Soundtrack library! My eyes feel dizzy now, and I’ve only managed to upload disc 1 of 4. Still it’s a great effort. If you’re interested, head over to the music section and under Super Robot Taisen.

#UPDATE:

Disk 2 is now up! Added pilot/robot/theme information that corresponds to the music track. Also applied a new structured layout using the table approach for easier viewing =)

Playing Dissidia 012 (Duodecim)

March 30, 2011 at 9:07 pm

Dissidia 012 (sequel to Dissida) is finally out, and I finally have my hands on it! Having high expectations (as the first game was so good) I was really dying to play the game, and now…what do I have to say about it? 4 words – It is amazingly good! exceeded my expectations and for good reasons. First Yuna from FF10 is re-modelled in todays CG technology and she looks so good… Then there’s Lightning from FF13, enough said, Lightning is in the game. Hard to describe how good this is, watch the opening/into and you may get a glimpse why:

I also recently got this amazing Dissidia 012 poster. This was before I got the game so you could probably imagine how excited I was. It looks amazing on my wall, its about 1.8m x 1.2m.

After all that I haven’t really talked about the game, I might leave that for another entry =)

As I was one who grew up playing Final Fantasy, this game just brings back so much great memories. Makes me really glad to be born in this generation.

And before I go, I’d just like to share this awesome Dissidia soundtrack with you. Its Epicness on a whole different level.

Nagi from Supercell – Has amazing vocals

March 22, 2011 at 9:12 pm

Very rarely does a singers vocals catch my attention, normally I enjoy listening to the song as a whole. However, I recently came across something really exceptional. Nagi from Supercell has really nice vocals! Its clean and pure, cute but not cute to the point where it sounds like the song is for kids. It’s soft and calming, but powerful and rocking!! I’ve yet to come across something that sounds this amazing! There’s so many Japanese female vocalists out there with a cute voice but thats all they have – a cute voice. Nagi’s is unique, its really versatile, the softness is almost like Rei Ayanami from Evangelion, but then switch to power mode it sounds like she can reach any pitch with an oomph!

So who is Nagi?? I don’t know, I couldn’t find any pictures of her, all the covers are in cartoon style.

Although there are many female vocalists I like, I have to say Nagi’s voice has already become one of my favorites. I just love her voice so much. Sound is really subjective and I don’t think it’s everyone’s preference. Still I think its worth checking out =)

White bird – The song you never knew

August 5, 2010 at 10:21 pm

Ok, spilling some personal secrets here. The reason why I’m writing this is because I recently rediscovered ‘The song’ in my massive song library, one which had a massive impact in my life.

‘The song’ – Vanessa Mae – White Bird (Cosmic Gate remix) has been one of the biggest inspirations of my life. Back in 2002, I fell in love with this song, it meant everything to me, there was just something special about it which I can’t describe but it always gave me this special feeling, like I’m drifting in space or something (hard to explain I know). This special feeling has been a driving source of motivation and inspiration. Whenever I was stuck doing design (back then), I would listen to this song over and over. Sort of like I wanted my design to match the song.

So what’s the secret? Points to Jaychan Logo =)

Check out the song here if you’re interested, hope you will like it! This song sounds the best on a strong sound system with heavy bass.

Yasunori’s Way

June 27, 2009 at 11:46 am

Heres a reply from Yasunori Mitsuda (Composer of “Radical Dreamers” and Chrono Trigger) when asked how he approaches on composing a piece of music:

“Well, there are many different ways.¬†Sometimes, they just simply “pop into my head”, and other times I come across a melody when just fooling around on the keyboard, and… also there are times when I hear melodies in my dreams.”

Very Inspiring…I shall continue playing guitar (although quite unrelated)

And also, Michael Jackson – May you r.i.p

H&MC LIVE BEE LOUD DVD!!

June 15, 2009 at 8:04 pm

Just when you thought i dont care about High and Might Color anymore, i just got myself their latest DVD!! it was 7.2 gbs….so yeah took a while =P. Damn im so excited about this DVD i just cant wait to watch it! Heres a strange fact – I have never watched a H&MC concert ever, just short clips of them. The reason being, they have never released a Live DVD…that is until now! Unfortunately, this will be the first and last performance that i will get to watch with Maakii in the band, its a very sad feeling. I dont know when i will watch this DVD because it will be my last (very much the same as how ¬†i didnt want to finish FSN) as i will never see Maakii live again.

Well, i’ll let you know when i watch it and tell you how i felt when watching it. I bet its gona be a blast =). First H&MC concert ever!!!

PS. H&MC have now selected their new vocalist called “Halca” my first impression of her is kind of neutral, not sure if she’ll win my heart, but nothing beats the original Maakii, because she is the BEEEEEEST!.
