Back from my hiatus

November 27, 2011 at 9:43 pm

It’s been a while since I last blogged so I think it’s time to perform a backup of my memory incase I forget =)

  • Firstly, gota welcome Markuz back to Oz as he returned from HK on a hellova trip – in a good hellish way. Thanks for the gundam Battle online game! I’ll see if can find a dreamcast emulator to play the game =)
  • Been so busy lately that I havent been working out much. Will try to play squash every week and hit the gym more often. only half a year left till I’m 25 so I gota get my body pumping as much as possible!
  • Currently playing Zelda Skyward sword , my first Zelda game. If you don’t know yet, Zelda is that cute female goddess character, Link is the name of the guy with the green outfit and sword =P. I must say, this game is truly amazing in every aspect. I always wondered why Zelda was such a popular game. I now know why. Good games these days arent about graphics, but the gameplay, Zelda excels in both! and brilliant story on top of this. I havent played a game this good since FF7 i reckon.

  • Loppy has grown so much he is now about double the size. He’s doing just fine and in good health =)
  • Will start planning for the Japan trip. Really inspired by Markuz’s trip that I’m planning to stop by HK with Chibi for 1 week and do some crazy shopping. This trip will be the highlight of 2012, I just cant wait!!
  • Will begin Project EX-S stage 2 shortly. I’m really looking forward to this, the beefed up version of S-gundam will surely look impressive. More on that later.

That’s all for now =)

PS Vita Rainie Yan stuff up

October 30, 2011 at 9:32 pm

I had such a good laugh when I first read about this. During a Press conference in Taiwan, Spokeswomen Rainie Yan (a Taiwanese celebrity) was there for the media. During her time on stage she was asked what her favourite playstation game was. She replied to the crowd “my favourite game is Super Mario Bros” – a Nintendo game ^^”. Her answer wowed the crowd at the press conference so to divert the attention she started posing with the PS Vita held to the media for pictures. However only to make matters worse, she accidently held it upside down. Buahaha! this girl obviously has no clue about games =P

My new companion – Loppy!

October 9, 2011 at 2:28 pm

I use to have a homebred baby rabbit called White Paws. It came as a surprise because I felt my rabbits were no longer fertile to have babies as they have already passed the breeding age. White Paws brought me much joy and reminded me how much I love rabbits. Because I’m so busy these days, I haven’t been spending much time if any at all with my little animals. Sadly, White Paws passed away recently at the age of 8 months and has left me feeling really empty. Since then, something felt missing from life. I would walk towards the door to my backyard with the feeling of a sense of purpose. But there was none, because White Paws is no longer there. They say a dog is a mans best friend, but to me, White Paws was my best friend.

So I decided for in remembrance of White Paws, I went to seek another companion. At first I had in mind that I wanted a plain grey dwarf bunny that resembled White Paws. I looked around many places starting off at my local Padstow Pet Shop. Unfortunately every place I went didn’t have any that matched my criteria. They all had different spots around them and interestingly around 50% were plain black. I had almost lost all hope but there was 1 shop left to check out. There I met Loppy! – a unique brown/orange colour baby mini lop which instantly won my heart! Sitting quietly in the corner along with 2 other plain grey dwarfs – That’s right, ’2 other plain grey dwarfs’!. I thought that this is truly my lucky day as I could not believe that sitting in front of me were 2 rabbits that I had been seeking for such a long time and an extremely adorable mini lop! It was a tough decision to make as I was only prepared to purchase one. But in the end I felt that White Paws could never really be replaced. I shouldn’t be choosing a rabbit just so it can be the next White Paws, because that can never happen. So finally I chose the mini lop because I felt I should follow my heart. Then I named him Loppy due to the ears =) really cute stuff!

Loppy now lives in white paws’ old home. On the first day he was really nervous, sticking to the corner like glue. Bhibi and i kept trying to feed it but it would not respond.

But after spending more time with Loppy it is now as energetic as ever! Really friendly and tame =) sometimes it would dash around randomly and do a binky. He is never shy for a pat and loves to play with people.

The cutest thing about it is when you wave your arm at it, he will generally respond instantly and run towards you. Loppy loves his new home and welcomes anyone who wants a visit =)

Project Ex-S stage 1 complete!

September 11, 2011 at 2:49 pm

This took longer than I expected but finally, stage 1 S-Gundam 3D model is finally complete!  I’m quite happy with the overall result. I paid extra attention to detail and reproduced all the logo’s in illustrator. This time I tried not to stray away too much from the original design like what alot of people tend to do, but instead I tried to accurately remodel the design from the individual parts to the textures. I want it to stay true to Hajime Katoki’s vision as much as possible.

I present you the mighty S-Gundam! Click on images for full-size.

EX-s S-gundam 3D model

Probably one of my favourite gundams of all time. What I love about S-gundam the most is how realistic the design is. Unlike modern gundams such as Exia and Freedom that uses a form of unique energy source such as the Solar Reactor and N-Jammer canceller respectively, S-Gundam uses traditional rocket boosters and fuel. It’s also highly customisable with the ability to upgrade it’s armour and weapons into what would then be known as the Ex-S Gundam.

This project took roughly 2 months but ‘stage 2: Ex-S Gundam’ should be the easiest out of the 3 stages as it’s only some additional parts. ‘Stage 3: Deepstriker’ would be the hardest due to the sheer amount of details but it should be fun!.

I will take a short break now as it has been rather mentally draining. Gundam modelling isn’t easy when you have a Full-time job and a girlfriend to take care of. But I look forward to begin my next journey soon and turn the S-gundam into it’s rightful Ex-S form. I hope to improve my 3D skills even further and create some much more detailed illustrations =)

S-gundam 3D model 90% complete

August 29, 2011 at 7:06 pm

Really exciting to announce that project 3D S-gundam is finally almost done. I’ve been working extremely hard the past few weeks after taking a really long break and got so much done, so productive. I want this to look better than Alteisen, but all I can say for now is that I’m really happy with the results so far. No WIP teasers, you will see the final render when it is complete =)

Should be done in another week or so, so stay tuned!

Goodbye…coin tower

August 15, 2011 at 8:31 pm

I have finally decided to take down my beloved coin tower and throw it into the bank. It is a sad day for the coin tower has been with me for many years, fought many room-quakes and breath-storms, never once toppled. The only effect anything had on it was probably my sub-woofer, through endless poundings of heavy bass of my devastating J-rock tracks, the 2 dollar tips would seldomly fall down one at a time. But other than that, I can convincinly say it was truly an engineering marvel, one that I can truly be proud of.

Standing above all, my coin tower defended by none other than Alteisen and Strike Freedom gundam…and trunks.

Taken apart and reorganised, I was overwhelmed by the amount of coins. This process took a ‘few’ hours as I had to count them as well.

Here are some interesting stats:

5c coins – 256

10c coins – 451

20c coins – 652

50c coins – 318

$1 coins – 282

$2 coins – 166

Total $ value = $911.80

Total weight = 15kg

Total height of tower = roughly 50cm

However, it’s legacy lives on. I have only deposited everything but 5c and 10c’s. From that I created a mini twin tower that’s protected by my dragonball figurines…and trunks standing on the bridge! =D

Hail to the twin coin tower!
